Selective Backup Menu Options:
1. ON-LINE Documentation | Displays release notes, user's manual, hints & tips, errors references, tech support information, LONE-TAR configuration manual, Tape-Tell™ manual, and CRONY™ manual. |
2. Complete CATALOGS Menu | Lists out the most recent LONE-TAR backups/verifies/restores. You will have an option to look through each catalog and also check for any verification errors. |
3. Detailed Summary Menu | This option allows you to display, print, copy, erase the '/log/ltar.log' file which is a detailed summary of LONE-TARs entire backup history on your server. The file that gets created is '/log/ltar.log' |
4. Short Summary File | Displays the information of the last line of your most recent backup & verify and its status of a success or failure. The file where LONE-TAR stores the tail end of the backup/verify results of your most recent backup is '/log/errors'. You can also link this file to the message of the day (/etc/motd), so that whenever a user logs in you immediately see if the last backup/verify was successful or not. |
5. Bit-level Errors Menu | Lists out each most recent LONE-TAR backups/verifies/restores. You will have an option to look through each catalog and also check for any verification errors. |
6. Frequently Asked Questions | This option takes you to our FAQ Database from within the software FAQ Database Filename ==> /usr/lone-tar/faq.lt.txt |
